The event I chose to look at was 9/11. I couldn't find an original news report on the event, but we all know what happened. This is how the American media portrayed it:

Four commercial airliners were taken control of by Muslim terrorists and deliberately crashed into the World Trade Center. There were almost 3,000 deaths total, including 19 hijackers. The World Trade Center was completely destroyed. Those blamed for the attacks included 19 hijackers, also Muslim terrorists.

I found a very interesting article through the search filter "site:.ir", searching for an Iranian point of view.

In this article, 9/11 is called a cover-up and a hoax. According to this news source, the "attack" was actually an elaborate hoax planned out by the US government. In this article, you see no mention of Islam, except for the claim that the US government attempted to blame the attack on Muslim terrorists. This is a very interesting and bold claim. Basically, this Iranian point of view is that 9/11 had nothing to do with terrorism, it was just an attempt by the US government to turn its people against the Muslim world.
